Gamepads

Gamepads work alongside the keyboard (not in the original, which read joysticks through its key bindings). The first connected pad drives player 1, the second player 2 (in a two-player game; Swap Sides exchanges them too). Buttons are named by position, like on a SNES pad: A east (right), B south (bottom), X north (top), Y west (left); on an Xbox pad that is B, A, Y, X, on a PlayStation pad circle, cross, triangle, square.

The map viewer takes the d-pad to scroll and L / R to change map.

The game reads the keyboard itself (the keys above) on every gasm runner and in the browser player; gasm's virtual pads 0 and 1 are gamepads 1 and 2 here, with the same button bits. Fullscreen and mute belong to the runner (gasm-run --mute; in the browser, the buttons under the picture), and holding Esc for a second quits.
